This is not for the fainthearted! It’s rich, decadent, luxurious, delicious and quite sinful. But it’s oh so worth it! Originally I saw a video from Dr. Oetker showing how to make this and managed to get the ingredients listed and method tested to get a result. Oh and did I mention it’s gluten free?! Yes indeed you won’t believe it but it is!
If you like your chocolate very rich and full on then use all dark chocolate or for a slightly less full on chocolate effect, you can opt for half dark and half milk. If you only use milk chocolate, it will probably be too sweet when combined with the caramel layer.
There are a couple of options with the ingredients if you can’t get the original ones and they all worked for me so that makes things a little easier. It’s not a complicated recipe but is made in stages so you need a little more time.
You need to have some peppermint extract for the minty icing on these delicious brownies. If you really want an extra peppermint kick, add 2 drops of peppermint extract with the oil.
It’s a great traybake recipe that’s easy and a lovely change from lemon or orange. Mint and Chocolate are a great combination.
Traybakes are always a great idea for a crowd and Brownies are a sure hit. Combine both and you’re on a winning streak and this great one bowl recipe results in a rich, squidgy chocolate brownie that can be adapted to suit real chocolate lovers and those who perhaps like their chocolate on the lighter side.
Can you imagine, you just need 3 ingredients to make these quick and delicious brownies?! That’s it, just 3 main ingredients and you will have gorgeous, squidgy brownies in about 30 minutes. It’s great to make rich, decadent brownies but sometimes, you just want a quick brownie fix without any hassle and this, I promise, will become your “go to” recipe exactly for that reason. They have Nutella in them so if you have a nut allergy, sadly these can’t be for you 🙁
So if you’re ready, just get your 3 ingredients, bowl and 8″ x 8″ tray out and let the magic begin …. it will be ready to bake before the oven has heated up fully!
These gluten free chocolate brownies are really delicious, you would not know the difference at all (I promise) and have a nice soft centre with the added bonus of chocolate drops for something extra squidgy. Warning : these are addictive and I take no responsibility at all for their deliciousness!
